MURDER INVESTIGATION

As part of the ongoing investigation into the fatal shooting that occurred early this morning in the 100 block of Koffman Drive, investigators have identified the suspect listed below:

Name: Jabbarreion Murphy
Age: 19
Description: Black male, approximately 5'11 tall and 240 pounds.

An active arrest warrant for Murder has been issued for Murphy.

We are asking for our community's assistance in locating Murphy. Keeping Hopkinsville safe is a shared effort, and information from our community can play an important role in helping officers locate wanted individuals and bring investigations to a resolution.

Anyone with information regarding Murphy's whereabouts is asked to contact ECC at 270-890-1300.

Do not attempt to approach or apprehend Murphy. If you see him, contact law enforcement immediately by dialing 911.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SHOOTING INVESTIGATION

At approximately 2:58 a.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Koffman drive after receiving reports that a person had been shot.

Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Hopkinsville Fire/EMS personnel immediately provided lifesaving efforts as they transported the victim the Jennie Stuart Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

The victim is identified as 42 year old Miguel Finch of Hopkinsville.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call ECC at 270-890-1300.

Updates will be provided as information becomes available and is deemed appropriate for release.

Early this morning, officers assisted Christian County Sheriff's Office deputies in arresting a juvenile who was wanted by Kentucky State Police in connection with a murder that occurred in another county.

Prior to the arrest, on August 23rd, the vehicle associated with a law enforcement BOLO (Be On the Lookout) activated a FLOCK camera in Hopkinsville, providing valuable information that the suspect vehicle had been detected in our area.

This is one example of how technology can serve as an important tool for law enforcement. FLOCK cameras help officers identify vehicles associated with wanted persons, missing or endangered individuals, stolen vehicles, and other active investigations. When a vehicle connected to an investigation is detected, officers can receive timely information that helps them determine where to focus their efforts.

In this case, the information provided helped confirm that a vehicle associated with someone that was wanted in connection with a murder had entered our community, demonstrating the value this technology can provide in keeping Hopkinsville & Christian County safe.

*SCAM AWARENESS*

It has been brought to our attention that another round of scam phone calls are circulating in our area. Callers are falsely claiming to be law enforcement officers with local agencies and are attempting to collect money in connection with court cases, warrants, fines, or other legal matters.

Law enforcement agencies will never contact you by phone and demand payment to resolve a court case, warrant, fine, or other legal matter. We will not ask you to provide financial information, purchase gift cards, transfer money, or make a payment over the phone.

If you receive a suspicious call, do not provide personal or financial information and do not send money. Hang up immediately.

Please share this information with friends and family, particularly those who may be more vulnerable to these types of scams.

SHOPLIFTING INVESTIGATION

We are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the woman pictured below in connection with a shoplifting investigation.

Surveillance footage shows the woman distracting a store employee while a juvenile, believed to be between 7 and 10 years old, who entered the business with her (not pictured), pushed a shopping cart full of unpaid merchandise out of the business and to her vehicle.

Anyone who can identify the woman is asked to contact ECC at 270-890-1300.
