Last week, Jeff Newton spoke with our Careers class about IDD Case Management and his work as a Police and Fire Chaplain. He emphasized to our students the importance of keeping God at the center of their lives, reminding them that no matter what jobs or careers they pursue, their focus should always remain on Him. We’re proud to announce that the Christian County Constable’s Office in District 2 is officially joining the Kentucky Constable Association, Inc.
Our first priority is to our oath: to serve and protect the rights and liberties of our community. With that, we are striving to set the example for exceptional training standards by ensuring training opportunities are affordable, accessible, and applicable to Constables. The Kentucky Constable Association provides just that.
Today, four of our deputies in conjunction with the Trigg County Constables attended a training session held by the association and sponsored by the Muhlenburg County Coroner, Fast Pro Services, the Muhlenburg County Constables, and the McCracken County Constables.
The training went over Process Service of Summons, Subpoenas, Warrants, and Evictions, Processing of Civil Papers, and Death, Murder, and Fatality Investigations.
We look forward to working closely with other Constable offices in the region and the association to better equip our peace officers.

Ladarius Radford is our Fugitive of the Week! He is wanted for Terroristic Threatening 2nd Degree and Menacing. Radford had threatened to shoot up a place of business and even admitted that to police over the phone during the investigation. Chief Deputy Jeff Newton accepts role of Chaplain for District 2 Constable and North West Fire Department.
Deputy Newton attended Chaplain Training in December along with several other departments from Kentucky, Indiana, Alabama and several other States. Fire, law enforcement and first responders received their training from The Kentucky Federation of Fire Chaplains based in Louisville Kentucky. Rev. Rebecca E. Brown of KFFC and Chaplain Nathan Miller of Hopkinsville Fire Department conducted the training.
Deputy Newton also attended Individual and group Crisis Intervention.

This month has seen an uptick in car related burglaries throughout Christian County. Here’s some tips to keep you and your belongings safe:

1.) LOCK YOUR VEHICLE
2.) MAKE SURE YOU LOCK YOUR VEHICLE
3.) Bring valuables inside with you and don’t place items in plain sight.
4.) DON’T leave fi****ms unattended inside your vehicle.
5.) If you see individuals rummaging in your car, we advise that you do not confront them. They may pose a danger to you or your neighbors if they are armed and dangerous. Call 911 and gather as much physical information as possible (i.e. clothing, license plate, car make and model, race, height, build, hair color, etc.)
6.) If you have security footage of a burglary, that happened the night before for example, call ECC at (270) 890-1300 and an officer will conduct an investigation. Coordinate with your community to see if other homeowners were targeted and gather as much security footage as possible.
7.) LOCK. YOUR. VEHICLE.
