Highland Volunteer Fire Department

Highland Volunteer Fire Department We are a 100% volunteer, donation funded fire department. We proudly serve several hundred families that live in our fire protection district.

At Highland Volunteer Fire Department, we strive to be the best department possible. We proudly serve several hundred members in our fire protection district 365 day a year, 24/7. We are also constantly trying to improve ourselves, and equipment, through constant training, maintenance, and equipment upgrades. What we do is simple, fight fires, anything from a fully engulfed structure fire, to a sm

all burning patch of grass. We also respond to vehicle accidents, trees down across the road, and other various emergencies. We are staffed by dedicated volunteers, which are certified firefighters by the Kentucky State Fire Commission. If you are interested in becoming a firefighter, stop by on our meeting date, the second Tuesday of each month!

It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce that one of our own, Henry Lamb has passed away. He has been a member since he was a teen, when he would ride his bicycle to the station to make a call. Arrangements are being handled by Maddux Fuqua Hinton on Tuesday April 25th with visitation from 12 pm to 1 pm, with the funeral starting at 1.

With the high amount of field/brush forest that have been happening in our region lately, we want to remind everyone of the importance of the burn ban. There should be no burning happening right now. This includes, burn barrels, camp fires, bon fires, burning fields, etc. Please do not put our lives in danger. Us and multiple other departments were out fighting brush fires yesterday due to citizens breaking the burn ban.

Thank you, and have a great week!
