On August 29th, 2026, at 8:06 pm, deputies noticed a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Danny Mazuera of Russellville, whose tag information showed he didn't have a valid driver's license.
The vehicle was at a gas station on North Main Street in Hopkinsville and pulled into a spot after getting gas.
Deputies got out with Mazuera and found him and his passenger, 40-year-old Brittany Jones of Hopkinsville were in possession of suspected m**h, ma*****na, along with drug paraphernalia.
They both told deputies they themselves would test positive for m**hamphetamine if tested. Jones claimed some of the suspected drugs in her purse were put there by Mazuera.
Jones was arrested and charged with possession of m**h, possession of synthetic drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of an open alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle, and first-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified).
Mazuera was also arrested and charged with no operator's license, possession of an open alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of synthetic drugs, and possession of m**h third or more offenses.
