On August 31st 2026, at 12:28 pm deputies were called for a motorcycle crash in the 6000 block of Greenville Road.

The motorcyclist was turning onto Greenville Road from Woodburn Hay Road and lost control, causing the single-vehicle crash.

The driver was taken by ambulance to the hospital for arm injuries.

On August 29th, 2026, at 8:06 pm, deputies noticed a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Danny Mazuera of Russellville, whose tag information showed he didn't have a valid driver's license.

The vehicle was at a gas station on North Main Street in Hopkinsville and pulled into a spot after getting gas.

Deputies got out with Mazuera and found him and his passenger, 40-year-old Brittany Jones of Hopkinsville were in possession of suspected m**h, ma*****na, along with drug paraphernalia.

They both told deputies they themselves would test positive for m**hamphetamine if tested. Jones claimed some of the suspected drugs in her purse were put there by Mazuera.

Jones was arrested and charged with possession of m**h, possession of synthetic drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of an open alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle, and first-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified).

Mazuera was also arrested and charged with no operator's license, possession of an open alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of synthetic drugs, and possession of m**h third or more offenses.

Update: The roadway has reopened.

On August 26th, 2026, at 8:40 pm deputies were called by Kentucky State Police, who were in pursuit of a vehicle at a high rate of speed on Interstate 24.

Kentucky State Police terminated the pursuit but the trooper's camera system in his vehicle was able to record the tag, and they gave the tag information to deputies and Hopkinsville Police.

Deputies found the vehicle at the RaceTrac gas station on Fort Campbell Boulevard. The driver was taken into custody by Kentucky State Police.

On August 25th, 2026, at 1:06 pm deputies arrested 23-year-old Nicole Cuellar on a warrant for attempted theft by unlawful taking and two counts of theft by unlawful taking.

The charges stem from an investigation that found she sold a Ford Mustang, truck parts, and attempted to sell a Chevy Silverado that didn't belong to her.

The car was damaged and inoperable when found; the truck was damaged and missing parts.

On August 24th, 2026, at 4:54 am deputies received a call from a man claiming someone armed with a gun was on top of his vehicle while he was going down the road on Interstate 169.

The driver, 33-year-old Sammy Contreras of McAllen, Texas, told dispatch he was in a truck but was found driving an SUV during a traffic stop on Interstate 24.

He claimed he had smoked m**h two days before, and a glass pipe along with a bag of suspected m**h were found in his vehicle.

He was arrested and charged with failure to or improper signal, possession of m**h, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
