Hopkinsville Beautification entails more than flowers and pretty landscapes. A large part of Hopkinsville's beautification is trash cleanup. A large program that the Hopkinsville Public Works Department and I take part in is the Trash for Cash program. This program relies on non-profit groups putting in hard work cleaning up the streets, and in return, we pay them for their work. If you see groups of people on the weekend filling orange trash bags, those are most likely the hard-working groups I am speaking of. I wanted to share an update on the hard work already done in April. In April, groups cleaned 18.5 miles of streets in Hopkinsville, removing approximately 1,600 lbs. of trash. I would like to thank all the groups that participated in this clean-up effort.

With beautifully maintained landscape with vibrant flowers, well maintained shrubs and even a decorative tractor, have created a warm and welcoming appearance. Another beautiful historic house with stunning landscape. With all of the eye-catching color and variety of plants, you are in for a treat every time you pass this house. Sign-ups are officially open for our Trash for Cash program! This is a fantastic opportunity for non-profits, teams, organizations, and church groups to raise funds while helping keep our community clean and beautiful.

This program allows organizations with an active 501(c)(3) a chance to earn funds and make a difference in their community by picking up trash along the roadside in Hopkinsville.
