Hey local Facebook Friends! Tomorrow (Jan. 30) at 6 pm in the downstairs meeting room of the Hoquiam Timberland Library a very special meeting of the Grays Harbor Parkinson's Support Group will have the Executive Director of American Parkinson's Disease Association of Seattle as our guest speaker. Kirsten Richards will be bringing materials to share with you and will answer any questions you may have about Parkinson's. EVERYONE is invited to learn more about PD. BIG FAVOR: One of our members is mobile thanks to his big electric wheelchair. He lives in the Aberdeen Manor, but he doesn't have transportation to this meeting. Would you be willing to pick him up before 6 and return him after the meeting ends at 7 pm? You'd have to have a van that accommodates his wheelchair. Please let me know before 3 pm tomorrow if you can be his hero. :-)

I am so sad to report that the 2021 Volunteer Opportunities Fair has been cancelled due to low turnout because of the pandemic. My fingers are crossed we can have the fair in 2022. If you are looking for a place to volunteer, please check out the list of 120 organizations and their contact information on KXRO.com. These local organizations depend on volunteers! Remember...when you volunteer, you GET more than you GIVE. 🙂

The folks at the Hoquiam Elks have given permission for the 22nd annual Volunteer Opportunities Fair to be held there on Saturday, October 23 from 11 am to 2 pm. If it has to be cancelled due to Covid, I'll get the word out about it. For now, I've emailed 120 organizations to invite them to participate. In the past it's been a marvelous way for Harborites to find places to volunteer. Please mark it on your calendars! :-)

The Moore Wright Group (TMWG) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Their mission is to break the cycle of poverty, abuse, and abandonment in our community by providing hope. Their vision is to create communities where everyone can thrive. TMWG receives donations from many businesses that they then pass on to folks. They are housed in the old middle Swanson's building in Aberdeen. Their forklift died; do you know anyone who can donate one to them? Thanks! 🙂

Harbor Bead And Crafts

Just giving an update on our situation...
We are working on cleaning up the old Eagles building in Hoquiam at the moment. Once we do that, some of the shops from the mall will be able to utilize the building including ourselves.
This is going to take some work and wall building to separate shops securely. If you would like to volunteer to help with any of this, please let me know. Contact us through our FB page. It would help us get up and running faster. Thank you.
