Eastlake was built to help relieve overcrowding at Americas High School. Groundbreaking for Socorro ISD's 8th high school welcomed the Class of 2014. Ensor Middle School students, who will attend the new high school as 9th graders in 2010, were on hand, as well as board trustees. The 241,683 square foot campus sits on 70 acres and cost approximately $40 million dollars. Construction of Eastlake Hi
gh School marked the beginning of the District's 5th feeder pattern. Participating in the groundbreaking ceremony were future freshmen and then Col. Ensor students Joseph Corral, Luis DeLuna, Miquela Farley, Brandon Infiesto Jr. They were joined by then Socorro ISD Board of Trustees President Charlie Garcia, Vice President Karen Blaine, Trustees Ray Rodriguez and George Salas. In the fall of 2010, Eastlake High School opened with approximately 500 high school students in grade nine. Eastlake High School has 35 faculty members and a UIL Sport staff of nine. Eastlake High School administrative team consists of the principal, two assistant principals, a curriculum coach and an athletic coordinator.
