🏆 SYRACUSE BRINGS HOME THE HARDWARE 🏆

The 1st Recruiting Brigade Annual Awards Board is in the books — and Syracuse Recruiting Battalion made its presence known.

The competition was fierce. The tasks were unforgiving. Only the best rose to the top. And when the dust settled, Syracuse stood there with two first-place finishes:

⭐ SSG Yvonne Kuncikowski — Regular Army NCO of the Year

⭐ SFC Christopher Seilaff — Army Reserve NCO of the Year

And we’re not done. 1SG Bradley Pascoe earned Runner-Up for 1SG of the Year, going toe-to-toe with the very best in the Brigade.

This is what excellence looks like. These NCOs didn’t just show up — they out-prepared, out-performed, and out-competed a field of outstanding Soldiers. Every leader in this formation is proud of them.

But the road doesn’t end here. SFC Seilaff and SSG Kuncikowski now advance to the USARD Annual Awards Board, where the standard climbs even higher and the competition gets even tougher.

Bring it on.

As we celebrate this Independence Day weekend, take time to enjoy family, friends, and the freedoms we are blessed to share.

While the fireworks and celebrations are a cherished tradition, let's also remember the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment of those who secured our nation's independence—and of all who have continued to defend it throughout our history.

“Our Community Salutes of Western New York hosted its 3rd Annual High School Enlistee Recognition Ceremony to honor its Class of 2026 high school seniors and their families on May 18, 2026.” Rochester and Southern Tiers Companies of the Syracuse Recruiting Battalion Future Soldiers participated. Congratulations to these members of Graduating Class 2026 for making the decision to enlist into the Army.

Brigadier General Stallworth, Deputy Commanding General of United States Army Recruiting Division was one of the guest speakers.

On March 13th, Future Soldiers from the Olean, Jamestown, and Horseheads recruiting stations visited the Eldred World War II Museum in Eldred, PA. During the trip, we promoted seven Future Soldiers, presented a commander’s coin to another, and recognized one standout recruit with a Battalion plaque.
