I welcome all feedback both positive and negative as it engages, connects and lets everyone have their say, here's a clip from my page posted February 10, 2022.
"If you’re looking for Chemung County’s “Official” page it can be located at “Chemung County, NY Government”. This is not the official page of Chemung County, it is the personal page of Chemung County’s elected Executive Chris Moss and has been in existence since 2013. If you don’t want to see or hear about snowball fights, covid-19 updates, trail camera photos, politics, me sitting by a campfire, shared new articles, campaigning, budget related issues and etc., the answer is pretty simple, don’t follow the page. There are multiple court rulings regarding social media accounts and elected officials and what is private and what is personal, I’m not aware of any guidelines, regulations or court rulings that are being violated. Since I do occasionally post issues that are specifically related to my elected position as County Executive I do abide by the following “If a public official invites comments on a social media page concerning public matters or otherwise intentionally designates it as a space for public discussion, the social media page may become a “limited” or “designated” public forum. Where public forums are involved, public officials cannot exclude people from accessing the page just because the official disagrees with them.” (ACLUnj.org) "
