Have you seen any Green June Beetles yet this year? They’re hard to miss! These native insects are harmless to humans but their larval stage, white grubs, can be a nuisance to some gardeners. Read more about them here!

Green June beetles Cotinus nitida have been flying in many areas across the Midwest and although they are harmless, their sheer size can be very intimidating to folks who don’t recognize them. These large, attractive, emerald and copper colored beetles (Fig. 1) are one of several species of scarab...

🖤❤️💚 Today we honor Juneteenth—Freedom Day.
On June 19, 1865, enslaved people in Texas were finally informed of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

As we reflect on this day, we recognize that the fight is not over and access to clean air, safe water, green spaces, and protection from environmental harm is part of a just and equitable world. Everyone deserves to access to nature and to feel safe, welcomed, and connected in outdoor spaces. 🌳🌻😊🌎

This Saturday from 9am to 12pm come by the Jarrett Nature Center to help spruce up! The recent rain has washed away a lot of the woodchips along our trails, so we could use help getting it replaced, along with taking care of some overgrown shrubs and weeds. Bring your water bottle and garden gloves (we have extras) and wear bug spray and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Hope to see you there!😃🌎🌻

This Saturday at 10am, join us at the tennis courts at Hatboro-Horsham High School for the Stay Another Day Walk, an event dedicated to raising awareness for su***de prevention. This walk brings our community together to support mental health, break the stigma, and show that no one has to face their struggles alone.

Held in memory of Ryan Killen, the event honors lives touched by su***de and reminds us of the importance of compassion, connection, and support. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Killen Family who are in need of financial support during this unimaginable time. Whether you’re walking on your own, with friends, or bringing your dog along, everyone is welcome.

The walk begins at the high school and ends at the Jarrett Nature Center. Let’s come together to walk with purpose, spark conversation, and take meaningful steps toward hope and healing.
