Due to some conflicting information, we wanted to make sure that everyone is aware that Olk Street/County Road M is still closed between County Road MM/Crest Street and County Road S.

There have been frequent evaluations of that roadway, and it will be open as soon as it is safe for travel.

Update: The Red Cross Shelter at HHS will close tomorrow morning at 7 a.m. The Red Cross has informed us that the need has declined and HHS is no longer necessary. The high school will, therefore, be open and run as scheduled on Monday, April 20.

Red Cross representatives also asked us to pass along a thank you to our community for their support. Thank you, Polar Bears, for all of the help and support you provided our neighbors over the last several days.

4/17/26: Hortonville High School will be closing today at 1:15 p.m. We have been working with our neighbors the last several days to assist people with the current flooding. Hortonville High School will be used as a Red Cross Shelter for those in need.

***Road Closure-County Road M/Olk Street***

We were just notified by the Outagamie County Highway Department that County Road M/ Olk Street will be closed between County Road MM (Crest Street) and County Road S.

This link from the Outagamie County website provides current detour routes:

We will continue to provide notifications when we receive them.

Due to flooding in our neighboring communities, detours have routed a significant amount of traffic into Hortonville (primarily on Olk Street/County Road M). We have received several complaints about traffic flow and violations. We will be providing extra patrol in the areas of concern and doing our best to keep traffic moving.

An additional concern is the location of the detoured traffic near our schools and crosswalks. Please be aware of our crossing guards who are doing their best to cross students.

We have been in contact with the Outagamie County Highway Department regarding the potential closure of County Road M north of Hortonville. At the time of this post County Road M is open for traffic between Hortonville and County Road S. If a closure is decided, we will make notifications as soon as possible.

Thank you for your consideration during these challenging times for our neighbors.
