⭐JCHS Work-Based Learning Spotlight⭐

Jackson County High School students Maycen Matthews and Isabella Pardo are gaining valuable real-world business experience through Work-Based Learning at the Empower College and Career Center school store under the direction of Dr. Christopher Hobgood.

As student employees in the school store, Maycen and Isabella assist with daily operations while developing important career-ready skills. Their responsibilities include inventory management, customer service, handling accounts receivable and payable, and learning how profit margins impact business success.

Through this real-world learning opportunity, students are also building communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial skills that will benefit them in future careers and educational opportunities.

The Empower school store provides students with an authentic business environment where classroom knowledge is applied in real-world situations. By participating in Work-Based Learning, Maycen and Isabella are gaining valuable experience that prepares them for success beyond high school.
