On behalf of the Hoskins/Woodland Park Volunteer Fire Department, we would like to thank everyone that came out for the Fire work show last night. Your continuous support is much appreciated. Thank you Ziggy Orlowski for being the man behind the Pyro technics. Thank you Kyle Steve Kruger, Jared Gall, Lucas Paustian, Dean Wockman, Chris Bruns, Lee Doffin, and Alex Mutschelknaus for helping with the set portion of the show. Thank you Doug Alder for hanging the flag 😉 thank you Taylynn Aldag for singing the national anthem.
We heard alot of good comments about the show and would like to bring the tradition back to Hoskins. Any donations from the community are welcome so we can start planning next year's event. Send donations to the Hoskins/Woodland Park Volunteer Fire Department. 🔥

Our dispatch center has seen a massive increase in 911 hang-up calls recently.

Much of this has been attributed to software updates on Android and Apple phones where the SOS feature is automatically turned on with the update. We have found that causes of the misdials are as simple as pocket dial, the phone bouncing around too much in a vehicle or ATV/UTV, a hard drop of the phone, etc.

Our dispatchers are required to follow up on 911 hang-ups and call back to make sure there isn’t an emergency happening. If dispatchers can’t reach those callers, then they have to deploy resources like police, fire, or EMS, to check the location of where the call came from.

If you do accidentally call 911, STAY ON THE LINE and our dispatchers will verify that there isn’t an emergency.

We want to make sure when you do have to call 911, we are ready to help immediately and can be as efficient as possible to provide help.
