The Hot Springs Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 16-year-old Deren Pershall.

• 16-year-old male
• Approximately 5'07"
• Approximately 131 lbs.
• Brown hair
• Brown eyes

**Last Known Clothing:**
• Black shirt
• Blue jeans
• Black and White Nikes

Legitimate organizations will never ask for payment in gift cards.

If you are asked to purchase gift cards or share the card numbers, it is a scam.

Do not send payment, and report the incident to your local law enforcement agency.

When in doubt, call Dispatch 605-745-5155 to request to speak with an officer.

UPDATE - CHILD LOCATED! SHE IS SAFE!!

Update - We are receiving numerous reports that a Juvenile matching her description was seen on the truck bypass in the area of Stay USA around 9:30-9:45 this morning.

Please continue to check cameras and call us with any information.

Missing Juvenile
Essia Lebeaux 10 YO female

The Hot Springs Police Department is seeking the publics help to locate 10 YO Essia Lebeaux. She was last seen at her Hot Springs residence around 10:30 this morning.

She was wearing a red shirt and cut off gray shorts.

Essia is described as a Native American female 4'8" tall, 80lbs. Shoulder length brown hair and brown eyes.

It is unknown if she left the area on foot, on her blue scooter, or in a vehicle.

If you have cameras in the area circled, please check your cameras to see if she may have been captured on video.

If you see Essia or know her whereabouts, please contact Fall River County Dispatch at 605-745-5155 (this is a 24/7 call taking facility).

The South Dakota Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics made its way through Hot Springs this morning!

We were proud to see the amazing support from our community, the students and staff at Hot Springs Schools 23-2 as well as our Officers including Chief Norton, Officer Deneke, Officer Maciejewski, Officer Maxfield, Reserve Officer Shively, and SDGF&P Conservation Officer Supervisor Dekker.

Thank you to everyone who participated and for supporting an incredible cause!

Big thank you to Reserve and Previous Captain Phil Shively for teaching an amazing De-Escalation training for all City Employees today.

Turns out De-escalation isn’t just for cops… it’s also for council meetings, Monday at the front desk, and the occasional “When are you going to fill this pothole?” 🚧
