URGENT ACTION!
IF YOU SUPPORT AN 18-MONTH MORATORIUM ON MASSIVE DATA CENTERS IN LITTLE ROCK, CONTACT CITY BOARD MEMBERS BEFORE TUESDAY AUGUST 4
Last month Little Rock City Director Kathy Webb revised her proposed 6-month moratorium on hyper-scale data centers at the request of advocates. She made changes including adding Google to the moratorium, and increasing the time frame from 6 to 18 months. These changes will make it harder to pass on Tuesday night.
If you are concerned about massive data centers operating in and near our city, please contact your City Directors and the Mayor immediately and ask them to support this proposal. See the contact information and some sample messages in the comments below.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION: To establish a temporary eighteen (18) month moratorium on the permitting and approval of Hyperscale Data Centers within the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, to require Comprehensive Municipal Impact Studies and public disclosures regarding Municipal water, wastewater, noise, emergency infrastructure, zoning regulations, and monitoring practices; to establish an administrative relief procedure, to declare an emergency; and for other purposes. (Sponsored by Director Webb)
