From Detainee to Teacher to Program Director of Samaritan Ministries Men's Rescue Mission

This week, the Garland County Jail Ministry has the honor of recognizing Josh Vallotton. He once came through the Garland County Detention Center as a detainee, and today he serves as a Bible study teacher in this ministry and serves as the Program Director of Samaritan Ministry in Hot Springs. Praise the Lord!

I have known him for over eight years, and it has truly been a blessing. When I was volunteering at the jail years ago, I gave him a Bible, and he is another who still uses it today.

Over the years, I have watched Josh grow strong in the Lord. He faithfully attends Hot Springs Baptist Church and serves in many capacities. I remember when he was a detainee attending Bible studies in B pod. I witnessed a spiritual transformation take place by the power of Jesus Christ. He was set free from addiction and was born again! PTL!!

Today, he spends his life helping others who are struggling with addiction and homelessness. As the Program Director of Samaritan Ministry in Hot Springs, he works daily to provide people with a place to sleep, food to eat, and clothes to wear. Most importantly, everyone who comes through hears the Word of God. Services are held there every day of the year.

I speak with Josh several times a week trying to place detainees in their soul saving and changing program. Samaritans is one of the four faithed based transitional living facilities, I use to place the detainees daily upon release. They are vital to the community.

He was once the one in need, and now he has given his life to helping others in that same place. That is the power of Jesus!

Josh is a faithful servant who goes above and beyond to serve people in need. He truly loves the Lord. He is a good friend, and when I need a laugh, I call Josh. 🙂 Yesterday he had me laughing all afternoon!

Josh is a living testimony of what Jesus, and the Holy Spirit can do. I am proud of you, and our community is thankful for all that you do. Keep it up! Through Christ you are making a HUGE difference for the Kingdom of God!!
