The vision of the Growing Healthy Communities - Hot Springs (GHCHS) initiative is to align with the
ArCOP goals and the Hot Springs 2030 Comprehensive Plan Update by working with community partners
and residents to encourage healthy, active lifestyles and improve access to healthy foods. The desired
outcome is a reduction in health disparity and obesity. The GHCHS can join with others to accomplis

the following objectives that support the ArCOP and City of Hot Springs goals:
• Develop and promote access to physical activity venues
• Expand physical activity options
• Support improved access to healthy eating resources and increase nutrition education options
• Network with area wellness, prevention and intervention services to incorporate expertise
• Support the incorporation of our natural resources into the overarching GHC and built
environment plans while protecting their environmental quality
