The Young Americans for Freedom group at Michigan Tech University has finished its third annual military care package drive. The group says it sent 78 packages, a combined 692 pounds, both stateside and overseas to service members ahead of the holidays.

Young Americans for Freedom at Michigan Tech and Hubbell VFW Post 4624 thank you for your generosity towards the 3rd annual military care package drive.

On Thursday, December 4th, 78 12”x12”x6” packages, weighing a collective 692 pounds, and containing 785 letters, were shipped to service members in 4 locations stateside and 11 locations overseas.

Special thank you to the following for their generous support and donations:

Our Drop-Off Locations: Superior Family Chiropractic, Matt’s Auto Body and Glass, Walmart - Houghton, Keweenaw Coffee Works, Louie’s Market, and Van Pelt and Opie Library

Schools and Churches: Mr. Hauswirth & Hancock Middle School, Barkell Elementary School, Mr. Boyd & Copper Island Academy, Chassell Schools, Church of the Resurrection, and St. Albert the Great Catholic Church

Hubbell VFW (especially Frank Ozanich and Judy Chizek), Chassell VFW, Chassell Auxiliary, Arcadian Hill Handmade, and the Reynold’s Family

As well as the numerous other community organizations and members who helped spread the word and donate towards bringing joy to our service members this holiday season.
