Our second floor will be closed for carpet cleaning from June 8-12. During this time, all access to the following locations and services will be unavailable:

Poster printing and scanning
3d printing and scanning
Lamination
Bloomberg Terminal
Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC)

Join the Van Pelt and Opie Library and Michigan Tech Well-being in welcoming a newly trained therapy dog team! John and Summer will be in the library every other Wednesday at 2pm, beginning on May 27th. John teaches in the math department and Summer's difficult job is bringing joy to all she meets. Extra-board-inary news! This morning, library staff members did some serious heavy lifting to assemble our brand new Clarus Glass mobile white boards, and they are now officially deployed throughout the building! These new boards will give students, staff, and groups even more flexible spaces to brainstorm, collaborate, study, and map out ideas wherever they need them. Huge thanks to the staff team who spent the morning moving boxes, turning wrenches, and making it all happen. We’re excited to see them in action across the library!

Often friends and occasionally rivals: folks at the NMU Lydia M. Olson Library , LSSU Library & Academic Services , and MTU's Van Pelt and Opie Library got together and decided it was time to have a little challenge. This summer, the universities will compete against each other to see who can read the most books comparatively. The challenge runs through August 31st and the much sought after pasty trophy will be announced to go to one lucky university on September 7th.
