🚩 RED FLAG WARNING – Please Use Extreme Caution Tomorrow 🚩

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for our area tomorrow due to dry conditions, low humidity, and expected winds. These conditions create a high risk for fast-spreading wildfires.

Bayou Cane Fire Protection District urges all residents to:

β€’ Do NOT burn outdoors
β€’ Avoid activities that create sparks (welding, grinding, etc.)
β€’ Properly discard ci******es
β€’ Secure trailer chains to prevent roadway sparks
β€’ Be cautious with grills and outdoor cooking equipment

Even a small spark can quickly turn into a dangerous fire under Red Flag conditions.

If you see smoke or fire, call 911 immediately.

Please help us protect our community by staying alert and sharing this message.

Stay safe,
Bayou Cane Fire Protection District

In January, 14 people have died in 11 residential fires across Louisiana. Sadly, this includes 1 person here in Bayou Cane's district. None of these homes had working smoke alarms. The State Fire Marshal's Office has a large inventory of free smoke alarms. Please contact your local fire department for more information.
