Second Opportunity to Purchase School Property

The Terrebonne Parish School Board is accepting sealed bids for the purchase of surplus school property.

This is the second offering of the property. In accordance with Louisiana law (LA R.S. 41:892(E)), the minimum acceptable bid has been adjusted to 80% of the appraised value.

Property: Former Dularge School/1327 Bayou Dularge Road (Hwy. 315), Theriot, LA 70397

Minimum Acceptable Bid: $108,000.00
Bid Deadline: September 10, 2026 at 9:00 AM CST
Bid Opening: 340 St. Charles Street, Bldg. #3, Houma, LA 70360

As we wrap up an exciting and productive week, we want to thank our dedicated employees, students, and families for making the start of the 2026-2027 school year a success!

Monday and Tuesday were filled with Opening of Schools meetings, professional learning, and classroom preparations as our teachers and staff worked hard to ensure everything was ready to welcome students.

Then, from Wednesday through Friday, our schools came alive as students returned for their first days of the new school year. Hallways were filled with smiles, classrooms buzzed with learning, and new memories began to take shape.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this important week such a positive one. We look forward to an amazing year of learning, growth, and success together.

Helping Our Students Start the School Year Strong

The Terrebonne Parish School District extends its sincere appreciation to the Terrebonne Foundation for Academic Excellence (TFAE), Synergy Bank, and United Way for South Louisiana for their continued partnership in supporting our students through the annual Pack the Bus school supply drive.

Each year, Pack the Bus brings together businesses, organizations, and community members to collect school supplies for local students and families. Through the leadership of Synergy Bank, United Way for South Louisiana, and TFAE, thousands of essential school supplies are collected and distributed to help ensure students have the tools they need for a successful start to the school year.

These generous donations will benefit students throughout the Terrebonne Parish School District, helping ease the financial burden on families while equipping classrooms with much-needed supplies. We are grateful for the continued support of our community partners and everyone who contributed to this year's drive.

Terrebonne Parish School District Supt. Butler, Asst. Supt. Breaux and High School Administrators recently had the opportunity to tour the LASHIP Shipyard and Edison Chouest Offshore (ECO) facilities, hosted by Mr. Al Archer, of ECO, gaining first-hand insight into one of our region's largest and most innovative industries.

Throughout the day, administrators learned about the many career pathways available in the maritime and offshore sectors, toured warehouse and training facilities, experienced advanced simulation technology, visited Port Fourchon, and met with company leadership to better understand the skills and workforce needs of today's employers.

Experiences like these strengthen the connection between education and industry, helping our schools prepare students for success in college, careers, and beyond. We sincerely thank LASHIP and Edison Chouest Offshore for their hospitality, their investment in education, and their continued partnership with Terrebonne Parish School District. Their commitment to developing tomorrow's workforce provides valuable opportunities for both our students and our educators.
