The latest update for tropical depression 2

[7/19 11AM]
🌀Tropical Depression Two has formed in the east Gulf.

Tropical Depression Two is expected to move toward the Louisiana and Mississippi coasts by midweek. While no immediate impacts are expected for the next couple of days, minor to moderate impacts increase by Wednesday.

Here is what to look out for during the midweek timeframe:
💨 Wind: Tropical storm-force gusts are likely, especially along and south of the I-10/12 corridor. This could cause isolated power outages.

🌊 Coastal Flooding: Minor to moderate coastal flooding is possible, primarily on Wednesday.

🌧️ Rain: Coastal areas could see 1–3 inches of rain. High rainfall rates could lead to localized flooding if the track shifts further north.

🤔 Confidence: Forecasters have lower-than-normal confidence in the storm's exact intensity, meaning impacts could still be adjusted. Stay tuned to local weather updates as the forecast develops!

We are grateful to receive a $35,624 grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation to support our emergency response efforts. This funding will be used to purchase 3 combination extrication tools, helping ensure our department is better equipped to serve the Bayou Black Community. Thank you to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, our local Firehouse Subs in Houma and the generous donors who made this possible!

🚒 A huge THANK YOU to our partners in public safety! 🚒

Bayou Black Volunteer Fire Department wants to give a big shoutout to Acadian Ambulance, Houma Police Department, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office, Terrebonne Parish Animal Control, and Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries for coming out and making our Touch a Truck event such a hit with the Bayou Black Gym summer camp kids!

These little ones got to climb up into real fire trucks, ambulances, patrol units, and more — meeting the folks who serve and protect our community every single day. Seeing their faces light up when they got behind the wheel (or at least pretend to!) is exactly why we do this.

Thank you all for taking time out of your busy schedules to invest in our youth and show them what community really looks like. We're lucky to work alongside such dedicated agencies

Tonight as we all lay our heads to cloth, I ask you take a few seconds before shutting your eyes to request special blessing for Chief Ken Bouvier and his medical team. Tuesday morning, Chief Bouvier will be having a very intensive and critical heart surgery. This procedure is nothing to take for granted but with gods will and the gifts of the skills & experienced of those he has chosen to be part of this medical team; we pray for a successful operation.

Father hear our prayers, bestow your blessing and healing powers upon Kenneth. Guide his medical team to perform at next level medical care. We ask this in your name.
Amen 🙏
