King & Queen families, you are raising some incredible young leaders❤️
Over the course of several days, 20 students from King & Queen Central High School volunteered alongside Thrive Virginia, and we couldn't be more grateful.
Together, they packed more than 600 drawstring bags for students across King and Queen County Public Schools. Inside those bags, they packed more than 4,000 snacks and 5,000 hygiene items, helping ensure every student received a gift from the Thrive Spot before summer break. They also helped sort, organize, and stock more than 1,300 additional snacks that will support King & Queen's summer program.
The numbers are impressive, but what stood out most was the enthusiasm these students brought each day. They worked hard, encouraged one another, and dedicated their time to showing kindness to fellow students throughout our community.
To the parents, grandparents, caregivers, teachers, coaches, and mentors who helped shape these young people: thank you. The kindness, responsibility, and community spirit we witnessed are a reflection of the values being nurtured at home, in our schools, and throughout King and Queen County.
To our student volunteers: thank you for helping make sure your classmates started their summer feeling supported, encouraged, and cared for. We are so proud of you. 🫶
