The pride starts here. 💙🦁

The Blue Lion Early Learning Center officially welcomed its very first class of Littlest Lions! From getting ready at home to exploring their new classrooms, these first-day moments marked the beginning of something truly special for our district.

We can’t wait to watch our Littlest Lions learn, grow and find their roar! 🦁

💙 Your Friday dose of Blue Lion happiness has arrived! 🦁

We asked a few of our youngest Blue Lions a simple question, and their answers (and those smiles!) were exactly what we needed heading into the weekend.

Turn up the volume and enjoy a little Feel Good Friday from some pretty awesome Blue Lions. 💙

It really IS a great day to be a Blue Lion!

Why is This on the Ballot Now?

The WCHCS earned income tax rate has been 1% since voters first approved it in 2020. The current 1% earned income tax expires December 31, 2027.

The renewal on the November 2026 ballot does not change that rate. It simply continues the same 1% tax for another seven years, so the district can maintain its current level of local operating revenue without interruption. Ohio law requires the district to seek voter approval before an existing tax expires. That is why the renewal now appears on the November 2026 ballot, rather than closer to the expiration date.

If approved, the tax would continue without interruption beginning January 1, 2028.

For generations, Gardner Park has been more than a football field. It’s where Blue Lions have competed, performed, cheered, gathered, and created memories that lasted long after the final whistle.

Now, a new generation is ready to make Gardner Park memories of its own.

Join us Friday, August 28, for the Gardner Park Renovations Dedication during our pregame festivities before the first home varsity football game of the season.

It may have felt like it would never stop raining, and you probably thought we wouldn’t get it done in time—but here we are! 😜

We’ll recognize the contractors and District Administrators who worked tirelessly to make this transformation possible, along with our Board of Education for their support. Then, we’ll fill the stands, turn on the Friday night lights, and cheer on our Blue Lions.

🎉 Pre-game festivities and dedication: 6:35 PM
🏈 Kickoff: 7:00 PM

The field may be new, but the pride and tradition that make Gardner Park special are still right here.

Tradition lives here. Welcome back to Gardner Park. 💙

Mrs. Tubbs is bringing her experience from the Fayette County Board of DD to her new role as a preschool teacher and intervention specialist at the Blue Lion Early Learning Center. She’s most excited to spend the year working, learning and playing alongside her new preschool students!

Drop a 💙 in the comments to help us welcome her to the Blue Lion family!

We’re settling into the second week of school, but this reminder is important every single day. 🚌

When a school bus stops to pick up or drop off students, know when you’re required to stop. Yellow flashing lights mean slow down and prepare to stop. Red flashing lights and an extended stop arm mean stop at least 10 feet away and wait until the lights stop.

A few extra moments of patience can help keep our Blue Lions safe.

Last week was a great one at Belle Aire! 💙

Thanks to the support of our School Board, Central Office and community members, students started the year with the school supplies they needed and were ready to learn. ✏️🎒

Our staff also received a little extra sunshine when one of our team members surprised them with beautiful flowers! 🌸

It was a first week filled with smiles, teamwork and plenty of positive energy. We’re off to a great start, Blue Lions!
