This afternoon- Saturday, August 22, Fayette County First Responders will be actively participating in a full-scale exercise at McDonald & Son Feeds on Inskeep Road. Vehicles will stage at Miami Trace Elementary School for this exercise. This is NOT real. It is realistic training that helps better prepare our County for emergency responses. Please avoid the area to allow responders to train.

Today local firefighters joined with Ohio State Highway Patrol and our Fayette County Coroner for a training on Airplane Accidents presented by the FAA. Over 30 were in attendance this Saturday morning. We wish to thank all that sacrificed time away from family to attend this timely training. After the class, we were able to visit with Jerry VanDyke, Manager of the Fayette County Airport. Jerry gave those in attendance a chance to see a variety of aircrafts, and first responders could visually see the differences in things like where the battery is located, where shutoffs are, and where to suction fuel out to offload it if needed. This training will prove to be invaluable as Fayette County continues to grow & evolve. Thank you to the FAA for such a great training.
