I have directed the chair of the Ohio Tax Credit Authority to pause consideration of any new data center tax exemption requests while the Ohio General Assembly's Joint Data Center Committee studies the growth of data centers in Ohio. https://bit.ly/4wTpumd

Today at Rotary, we welcomed Ken Ford, OSU Extension Agriculture & Natural Resources Educator for Fayette County! 🌱🚜

For the past 12 years, Ken has helped farmers, landowners, and residents discover practical ways to improve agriculture and protect natural resources to strengthen our community.

Ken highlighted several research projects taking place at the county farm located at the Fayette County Airport, including applied research plots, insect monitoring, and eFields.

He also spoke about the Annual Agronomy Field Day, which brings educational speakers and hands-on field demonstrations to the community each year, along with pesticide and fertilizer recertification programs that serve 60–80 participants annually on a three-year cycle. In addition, he is involved with the Fayette County Ag Hall of Fame, helping recognize the individuals who have made lasting contributions to local agriculture.

Thank you, Ken, for sharing your knowledge and for the important work you do for Fayette County agriculture! πŸ‘

Yesterday, we welcomed Lori Hatfield and Nick Bailey from Atomic Credit Union!

Lori serves as the Branch Manager in Washington Court House, and Nick is the Regional Manager.

They shared insights about the credit union and the differences between a credit union and a bank.

We also learned more about Atomic Credit Union’s strong commitment to financial literacy through their Student-Run Credit Union program. Since 2011, this initiative has grown across Southern Ohio into approximately 100 schools in 38 school districts, including Miami Trace and Washington Court House City Schools. This program gives students hands-on experience with saving, budgeting, and real-world financial skills.

We appreciate their time and their continued investment in our local schools and community!
