Two of our Houston Special Olympics Texas athletes had the opportunity to meet Olympic Silver Medalist Shaun Maswanganyi. Shaun competed for the University of Houston and won silver at the 2024 Paris Olympics as part of South Africa's 4 x 100 meter relay team. Our athletes had a great time talking Shaun!

This morning, the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities had the distinct honor of participating in the Breakfast with Champions, hosted by Special Olympics Texas - Greater Houston Area. It was an inspiring event that brought together local law enforcement, department leaders, and numerous organizations, all united in support of the incredible athletes and the mission of Special Olympics. It was a privilege to stand alongside these dedicated community partners in celebrating the achievements of champions who exemplify resilience, strength, and the power of inclusion.
