I have responded to the statement many times over in my career, the statement along the lines of a dispatcher just answers the phone. It is true that phone calls are answered. However, “just” has no place in the statement or question when it comes to what a 9-1-1 dispatcher does. Read:

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing juvenile:

Name: Temperance McNeal
Age: 14 years old
Height/Weight: 5’4” / approximately 120 lbs
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Pinkish-red

Temperance was last seen at Dixon Middle School in Dixon, Missouri.

At this time, her whereabouts are unknown, and we are actively working to locate her.

David Nicholson has been missing for 3 days and was officially reported missing yesterday from Mountain Grove.

He was last seen wearing:
• Brown Harley-Davidson jacket
• Red cutoff shirt
• Blue jeans
• Work boots

* At 615 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Hartville, or 10 miles northwest of Mountain Grove, moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
