When HCEC medics Kathy C. and David J. recently met Mr. Jones, they noticed that he had an older wheelchair, which wasn’t in the best shape. It appeared to be on the verge of breaking, which caused mobility and safety issues for him.

Fortunately, our Community Health Paramedic Program was able to provide Mr. Jones with the perfect wheelchair, which was previously donated by HCEC EMT Debbie R.

We are thankful to have been able to help a member of our community, and we are very proud of the work and care our team provides! Mr. Jones’ smile says it all!

HCEC is proud to be the home of Exploring Post #1. Our EMS Explorers are local youth who are mentored by HCEC field and communications staff to learn about health careers, develop leadership skills, and provide service to our community.

Friday, our Explorers volunteered for a mass food distribution. Together with the Houston Food Bank, Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioner’s Office, and local community members, our Explorers helped give out fresh produce and canned food for nearly 500 families!

This is what community mobile integrated health is all about!
