Texas Rising at UH
Texas Freedom Network Student Chapters and their social media accounts are a project of the Texas Freedom Network Education Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization.
Texas Rising is a movement to inspire and engage a rising generation of young Texans in electoral politics, public policy advocacy and community organizing. We are leveraging the power of thousands of young, diverse, community-focused activists to hold our elected officials accountable to all Texans, not special interests and the voices of intolerance and division. Texas Rising leaders are advocating for sound public policies that address the issues that directly impact the well-being of everyone in our state. Voting rights – Remove unnecessary barriers to registering to vote and casting a ballot Reproductive health care – Ensure that everyone has access to effective sex education, affordable family planning, and safe, legal abortion care without the interference of politicians LGBTQ – Promote equality and policies that end discrimination against LGBTQ Texans. Together we can build a better Texas.
Mission: The mission of the Texas Freedom Network is to advance a mainstream agenda of religious freedom and individual liberties to counter the religious right.

Women You Should Know
"It's disturbing how women have been conditioned to incessantly apologize: for giving our opinion, for being 'bossy', for circumstances beyond our control, for having body hair, body fat, (or heaven forbid, bodily functions). What's even more disturbing is how often I catch myself doing it a daily basis. I'm super proud to partner with Freeform in the fight against unnecessary apologies. In celebration of International Women's Day, let's pledge to live our lives proudly and unapologetically." - illustrator Violet Clair via Insta http://bit.ly/2gZaWyG
