HE-HE-HE!! Welcome th the end of the day! It’s sooooo hot outside but my clients LOVE it, you get great cardio and a natural tan. All while walking some doggies!
All is well here!
I’m still taking on new clients.
Corona can’t keep me from caring for others pets as well as I do my own.
Ya just can't keep a dedicated dog walker down! My clients depend in my services!
Here's proof. And yes......it hurts. I refuse to take any more pain meds as they make me really groggy all day after I take 1 at night.
TOO PRETTY NOT TO BE OUT AND ABOUT DOING MY DOG WALKING GIGS!
I can hardly breathe, my throat is dry and I have a dry cough.
#sitstaywalkplay is happy to take on new clients during this situation. I'm sure some walkers my not be walking their usual clients.
I AM NOT TRYING TO STEAL ANYONES CLIENTS!
I'll fill in for your regular walker as soon as their okay getting out.
DIRECTLY FROM MY VET AND CLINIC.
If #OAKFORESTVETERINARYHOSPITAL is rolling, we’re rolling, or in my case, walking.
#sitstaywalkplay is here if anyone needs their pups walked in this alleged COVID-19 until it’s over.🦴🐾
Many have asked, "Can cats or dogs be infected by COVID-19?"
Friday, February 28, the World Health Organization reported that a dog in Hong Kong was quarantined after samples obtained from its nasal cavity and mouth tested “weak positive” for the virus that causes COVID-19. The dog’s owner has tested positive for the virus (SARS-CoV-2, formerly called 2019-nCoV) and has COVID-19. The implications of a “weak positive” test result are unclear, and it’s unknown if the presence of the virus is due to infection, environmental contamination, cross-reactivity, or even potential issues with the test itself. Hong Kong officials said the dog showed no clinical signs of illness, has been quarantined and is being cared for, and will continue to be monitored and tested to determine its status.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), no animals in the United States have been identified with the virus, and there is no evidence that dogs or other pets can contract or spread COVID-19.
Oak Forest Veterinary Hospital is continuing to see clients, as we always have, throughout the business day. We have not made any adjustments to our regular schedule. The following precautions are being taken to keep everyone healthy at Oak Forest Veterinary Hospital:
Examination rooms are cleaned and disinfected between each client using a medical grade disinfectant. This includes the seating areas used by client(s), and any surface areas within the examination room. This level of sanitation is our standard operating procedure and not based upon COVID-19. Our front counter is disinfected hourly amongst other precautionary measures.
The topic of social distancing, or reducing direct human to human contact, is common on news outlets these days and is being discussed by the World Health Organization and the CDC. While large numbers of individuals are never collected at one time at our hospital, we do recognize that some clients might want to create some social distance between themselves and others. We are trying to avoid shaking hands…but old habits are hard to break. We won’t be offended if you refuse a handshake and ask that you not be offended if we don’t offer our hand.
We understand that some of our clients, especially those at high-risk, may not want to leave their home and risk exposure to this virus. We do not want animal care to suffer as the result of human companions needing to make the choice to protect him/herself from illness. Therefore, if you are not comfortable bringing your pet into the hospital due to the COVID-19, the Oak Forest Vet Team will do our very best to accommodate. This would mean one of our team members meeting you in the parking lot after you call letting us know that you have arrived for your appointment. The team member would collect some medical information and your pet from the car and take them into the hospital where treatments can be performed. The doctor may call you while you wait in the car to discuss recommendations and options. After everything is complete and all questions discussed, your pet will be returned back to you at your car. We require that all cats and small dogs be in a carrier. If you don’t have one, we will lend a carrier to you. All large dogs must be wearing a leash and collar. Please feel free to call us when you arrive for your appointment 713-682-6351.

THE BEST HELP EVER!
He's not only my GREAT nephew(I'm his favorite uncle) but he's got the rescue bug too!
Thank you D!!
We LOVED having my great nephew voluntarily help with my doggie duties Friday, Saturday and Sunday!
Thank you D! Uncle Shelby and sit.sty.walk.play thanks you for your hard work. Your cousins(fosters too) were sooo happy you came to help me! You get your volunteering skills from me. Right? Your love of dogs....me again!
OH MY DOG! Y’all are super awesome and I’m super blessed and honored by this wonderful charity.
My platform(if you will) is in memory of a very dear friend and mentor. Someone I’d love to be 1/2 of what she was. I miss her dearly in everything I do. Special songs....places we went and checked out. Stuff. Watching the cancer from diagnosed to all the ups and downs. Hard times, great times, Blessed with remission only to start the fight again. We fought together. But we fought harder and achieved remission again! She was again in remission!! Then, several months later it came back and she talked to me a lot. A lot of very personal secrets. We we’re like 1 person. And I promised her that someday for some reason I, in some way would make a difference. I absolutely lost 1 of the most special people in my life that October in 2010. #SusanKellyBroze
I look forward to the friendly competition with my co honorees.
REAL MEN SPOTLIGHT: Shelby Kibodeaux has been a fixture in the Houston animal community since adopting Houston as his home in 1992. Originally from Sulfur, LA, Shelby relocated to Houston when he met his husband, Bruce Padilla, who already lived here and was working with Foley’s Department Store. He currently owns a dog walking business, SIT STAY WALK PLAY, and lives with Bruce and their 6 rescue dogs. Shelby is an avid animal lover and is actively involved with Citizens for Animal Protection; he will be co-chairing their June 2019 Gala, Mr. Magoo’s “We are the Champions!”. He was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2014, and has co-chaired several events for numerous charities, collectively raising well over a million dollars. Shelby has lent his fundraising expertise to the Real Men Wear Pink campaign in order to bring more visibility to the cause, and support friends who are currently battling breast cancer. His closest friend, Susan Kelly Broz, battled breast cancer for several years before she succumbed in October of 2010, and he is proud to be a part of Real Men Wear Pink to honor her memory.

The city’s garbage pickup service has been steadily going downhill since Sylvester Turner was elected. Garbage and recycling sit on our streets for days, sometimes weeks past the date it was supposed to be picked up. And now we learn that Turner has been lying to us about how recyclables are being handled. Like any CEO who isn’t performing, it’s time for him to go.
This is a management failure. Equipment is breaking down because there's no maintenance or long-term renewal and replacement program. And there are mounting complaints from solid waste employees who say they are forced to work in unsafe conditions. It is time to throw out the current leadership.
Y’all know I’m obsessed with The Beales /Bouviers/Kennedys and Grey Gardens........here’s “little Edie” Beale with a Dalmatian!
I’m a 2019 Real Men Wear Pink!!! Such an honor!!
I just got knocked down by 1 of our Dalmatians!
Thanks Freckles! This is gonna feel fabulous!
