Civil courts decide more than you think! Many people think courts only handle criminal cases. Civil courts hear disputes involving car accidents, property issues, business disagreements, contracts, workplace disputes, property tax appeals, and more.
If a dispute involves legal rights, property, money, or responsibilities, it may belong in civil court.
From the community to the courthouse, justice is for everyone!

As a judge, I’m not supposed to prejudge a case. However, on this one, the evidence is overwhelming.

Today, we celebrate the fathers, father figures, mentors, coaches, big brothers, and men who lead with love. The ones who show up. The ones who pour into others. The ones whose strength, wisdom, and encouragement leave a lasting impact.

The record reflects that your presence matters, your sacrifices are appreciated, and your legacy is still being written every day.

Happy Father’s Day to all the men making a difference in the lives of others. The verdict is in: you are valued, appreciated, and loved.

Recently I was honored to serve as a featured panelist and share my journey in public service at the NFBPA Greater Houston National Forum for Black Public Administrators’ 40th anniversary weekend! Thanks to President Cherrelle Duncan and her executive team for a first-class event that brought together leaders, students, and public servants from across our region. One of my greatest joys is encouraging young people to see themselves in positions of leadership and impact.
Congratulations on 40 years of excellence, and thank you for a weekend that was both inspiring and empowering!
