Safety is one of our primary focus areas, therefore, we are proud to a part of this life-saving program. We impact lives by providing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to economically disadvantaged families in the greater Houston area. Through CenterPoint Energy’s financial support, HFD was able to install 25,246 smoke detectors, 1,402 carbon monoxide detectors year-to-date and provided one Commercial Fire Simulator for HFD’s Fire Safety Training in the greater Houston community.

Since 2007, CenterPoint Energy has invested $259,000 in smoke and CM detectors and $27,000 in in-kind printing for the Get Alarmed Houston program. According to Paul Box, HFD Public Affairs Supervisor, “CenterPoint Energy’s greatest impact is to help reduce the fire fatality rate and to keep our customers safe.”
