Sheriff James Meyers and the Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office are proud to announce that Investigators Bo Yeatman, Brandon Samuell, Jaycob Paden, and Deputy Marqoun Evans have successfully completed the Basic Tactical Medical Instructor Training Program taught by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) and are now certified Tactical Medical Instructors.

This intensive training provided these officers with advanced lifesaving skills and the ability to instruct others in responding to medical emergencies and critical incidents. Through this certification, they are now qualified to deliver tactical medical and emergency response training to schools, churches, fire departments, law enforcement agencies, businesses, civic organizations, and other community groups throughout Chickasaw County and the surrounding area.

Sheriff James Meyers remains committed to enhancing public safety and ensuring our community has access to high-quality emergency preparedness training. As part of that commitment, the Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office is making these certified instructors available to assist local organizations in developing lifesaving skills and emergency response capabilities that can make a difference when every second counts.

If your school, church, business, community organization, or agency is interested in hosting a Tactical Medical or emergency preparedness training, please contact the Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office or one of these instructors to discuss scheduling a class. We welcome the opportunity to bring this valuable training to our community and help others gain the knowledge and confidence to respond during emergencies.

Sheriff Meyers Continues Keeping Deputies Up to State Training Standards

Congratulations to Deputy Brandon Samuell of the Chickasaw County Sheriff's Department on successfully completing the 280-hour Certified Investigation Course hosted by the Tupelo Police Department.

This intensive training program provided advanced instruction in criminal investigations, evidence collection, case preparation, interviewing techniques, and investigative procedures. Completing this course reflects Deputy Samuell's commitment to professional development and excellence in law enforcement.

His dedication to continuing education and enhancing his investigative skills helps strengthen the services provided to the citizens of Chickasaw County and ensures the Sheriff's Department remains committed to the highest professional standards.

The Chickasaw Sheriff Department K9 Unit attended the annual MLEOA Summer Conference and Certification on the Mississippi Gulf Coast last week. Deputy BJ Gladney and partner Asin took first place in the Hard Dog Fast Dog competition and took first place in the Narcotics Detection competition. Great job BJ and Asin!
