Precinct 7 Toll Road Sergeant Michael Calvin recently submitted a letter of Commendation giving accolades to Deputy Jennifer Chavis, Deputy Robert Woodard, and Deputy Ann Glasgow on a job well done.

Congratulations on a Job Well Done - At approximately 5:00 p.m. on January 17, 2021, Sgt. Calvin, Deputy Chavis, Deputy Woodard, and Deputy Glasgow responded to an accident that took place on 9400 South Sam Houston Toll Road West involving a male subject. The male driver was under the influence of an unknown substance. He began shooting a gun through the front windshield of his vehicle. He then exited his vehicle and proceeded to the middle of the roadway. He then started swinging at the cars of other motorists as they passed him.

After arriving on location, Chavis, Woodard, and Glasgow successfully apprehended the suspect by only using a reasonable amount of force. These deputies showed courage and bravery by performing their duties without hesitation. The results of their actions ensured safety to motorists traveling on the S. Sam Houston Toll Road. Job well done!

Our prayers & thoughts go out to our Harris County Sheriff's Office family as they've lost Sgt. Bruce Watson this afternoon. He'd just finished an off-duty extra job & was on his way home when his vehicle was struck in the Pearland area near FM 2234.

Sgt. Watson is survived by his wife, a Houston Police Department officer, and 3 children. He was a US Army veteran and 20-year veteran with HCSO. Such a heartbreaking way to start off 2021. Please keep them in your prayers.
