We worked on some HUD houses yesterday to help make them more energy efficient. We installed Dual Reflective Ceramic 35% which blocks 58% of the solar heat (TSER) from passing through the windows. Here's a before & after pic.
I’m brand new to Houston and very interested in residential earthen building (cob, adobe, strawbale, etc). Is it possible to get permits for such buildings in Texas? I understand it would probably have to be outside the city limits if it were possible.
