The One and Only. The Pride of the Northside.

Since 1942, this department has stood as the backbone of Houston’s Northside. From Lauder Road to Little York Road, from the Hardy Toll Road to the Eastex Freeway, this is our ground. Our responsibility. Our commitment.

Generations have come and gone, but the mission has never changed. We inherited a legacy built by firefighters who charged through smoke, heat, and uncertainty without hesitation. They didn’t build this department with words, they built it with grit, sacrifice, and action.

Today, we carry that same standard.

We train harder. We move faster. We fight fire aggressively. We don’t chase comfort, we chase the job. Every alarm is another opportunity to honor the badge and the men who wore it before us.

Please join us in congratulating Westfield Pipeman Xavier Moreno on his promotion to Captain with the Houston Fire Department.

This well-deserved achievement reflects years of dedication, leadership, and service to the fire profession. Joining Xavier on stage for this special occasion were his father, Joe Lewis Moreno, and his uncle, Frank Alvarez, a retired Battalion Chief with the Austin Fire Department.

The fire service runs deep in the Moreno family, and this promotion is a testament to a proud family tradition of service, leadership, and commitment to the communities they serve.

We are proud to have Xavier as part of the Westfield Fire brotherhood and wish him continued success in his new role.

Please join us in congratulating one of our own, Pipeman Xavier Moreno, on his promotion to Captain with the Houston Fire Department.

Xavier currently serves as a Pipeman with Westfield Fire Department and is assigned full-time to Houston Fire Department Station 50 on C-Shift. Since joining Houston Fire on November 15, 2004, he has built an outstanding career through hard work, dedication, and leadership, promoting to Engineer Operator in April 2018 and most recently to Captain in February 2026.

We are proud to have Xavier as a member of the Westfield Fire family and congratulate him on this well-earned accomplishment. We wish him continued success and safety as he begins this next chapter of leadership with the Houston Fire Department.

Westfield Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire with reports of victims trapped on the 3000 block of Pear Meadow Ln. in the High Meadows Subdivision.

Upon arrival, Westfield firefighters quickly extricated the homeowner from the residence. Patient care was immediately transferred to Harris County Emergency Corps and the patient was transported in stable condition to Memorial Hermann Downtown.

Simultaneously, crews initiated an aggressive offensive attack, rapidly locating, confining, and extinguishing the fire, preventing further extension and damage.

This incident highlights the professionalism, training, and rapid response of all personnel involved.

Westfield Fire Department was proud to attend and support the 5 de Mayo Festival in East Aldine, celebrating community, culture, and connection.

It was a great evening spent alongside residents enjoying live music, excellent food, and a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.
