✔ Turn around and find a safe alternate route.

A slow-moving weather pattern is expected to bring multiple rounds of rain to our area beginning tonight and continuing through mid-week. Moisture moving in from the Gulf combined with slow-moving storms may lead to periods of heavy rainfall and localized flooding.

🌧️ Weather Update: Rain Chances Increase Sunday–Tuesday

A weak front and tropical moisture moving into the western Gulf will bring periods of showers and thunderstorms to southeast Texas Sunday afternoon through Tuesday.

What to expect:

Showers and storms are increasing Sunday afternoon into the evening
Heaviest rainfall potential Monday into Tuesday

Average rainfall totals of 2–3 inches, with isolated higher amounts of 3–5 inches possible

Minor street flooding or ponding in low-lying areas may occur, especially where storms move over the same areas

Stronger storms may produce lightning and brief wind gusts up to 40 mph

The chance of tropical development in the Gulf remains low at 20%. Regardless of development, locally heavy rainfall is still expected to be the main impact for our area.

Please stay weather-aware, avoid driving through flooded roads, and keep an eye on updates over the next few days.

| 🐕Tip #2: Leash Up for Safety!

Emergencies can be stressful for pets, causing even the calmest animals to become frightened or run away. Make sure collars fit properly, ID tags are up to date, and leashes are easily accessible in case you need to leave quickly.

| Strong partnerships help strengthen our community’s resilience❤️

Last week, the City Of La Porte joined the City of Deer Park and the Texas Division of Emergency Management for a visit to H-E-B Headquarters to learn more about their emergency planning and business continuity operations.

It was great to see H-E-B’s commitment to serving communities before, during, and after disasters and to learn more about the processes that support those efforts.

Partnerships matter, and we appreciate H-E-B for sharing their time, knowledge, and dedication to keeping communities ready!
