Just completed the last class meeting for the Paradox Navigators - our current Executive in HRD Masters Cohort. It was a mix of disbelief (did we really make it!?) and pride (wow, how have we changed!) I am so proud of each of them.
We are cultivating an innovative group of change leaders. They are reflective, thoughtful, brave, and evidence-driven! Their projects span on-boarding, process improvement, team relations, high performance competency development, recruitment, and knowledge transfer. Keep watching them rise!
Excited for this article on the impact of imposter phenomenon on work-life balance (The exhausted imposter: How ‘feeling like
a fake’ harms our roles at work and home) to be published by the British Psychological Society (
https://shop.bps.org.uk/work-life-balance-bulletin-a-dop-publication-volume-4-no-2-winter-2020) and is free to download when you subscribe. A big thanks to my stellar colleagues as we continue to unravel the impacts of IP on work -- Drs. Lisa Sublett (UH Clear Lake) and Lisa Penney (University of South Florida)! You rock!
Congratulations to Dr. Melika Shirmohammadi (UH Assistant Professor, Human Resource Development) and colleagues on the publication of 90 Days, 90 Ways, a book on academic writing. As someone who finds it hard to persist on writing projects given the multiple demands of other work, I see this as a nice reminder and gentle "kick in the pants" on keeping momentum in my writing. Congratulations Melika!
I continue to be impressed by our Paradox Navigators cohort in our Executive Masters in HRD Program. Last night, as we discussed how to 'set the table' for change (thank you Brad Shuck-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzyYOvhCwgw), our internal consultants shared the tools they are bringing to their project sponsors/clients to lead their change projects. Watch out world, this cohort is taking their consulting by storm! This was a pic of our on-campus and remote student class (hyflex) at our beautiful Sugar Land campus building. #MaskupCoogs #learningthruchange #UHExHRD
Students, alumni, and friends of the UH HRD program. Please join me and others attending the Academy of Human Resource Development's podcast this Friday featuring Dr. Anneliese Singh as she leads a discussion on racial injustice and ways to heal. Dr. Singh spoke at our annual AHRD Conference earlier this year and her perspectives were thoughtful and galvanizing. I hope you will join us. This is open to all.
Students, alumni and friends of the HRD program, I invite you to join the Academy of Human Resource Development this Friday in hearing Dr. Anneliese Singh facilitate a conversation on racial healing. Dr. Singh was the keynote at the AHRD Conference in Atlanta earlier this year and provided a thoughtful and moving discussion on ways to address racial injustice. I was deeply moved by her insights and discussion. This event is open to all.
Anxiously waiting for the College of Technology graduation!! So excited about our HRD Graduates for Spring 2020!
