πŸš’ This is where it all started.

Andrew Aleman began his journey in public safety with the Pasadena Volunteer Fire Department in 2008. Over the past 18 years, under the leadership of Chief Lanny Armstrong, he has served as a Firefighter/EMT, Fire Dispatcher, Lieutenant, Captain, District Chief, and currently as a fireground tactical drone pilot.

Andrew credits Chief Armstrong for his trust, leadership, and guidance throughout the years, as well as his older brother, Assistant Fire Chief Art Aleman, and the many firefighters and public safety professionals who helped shape him into the emergency management leader he is today.

Congratulations to Andrew on being selected as one of IAEM’s 2026 40 Under 40! πŸŽ‰

From the firehouse to emergency management, the foundation started right here at PFD.

When one of our own receives an honor like this, we have to brag on them a little!πŸ‘

Our Senior Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator, Andrew M. Aleman, AEM, has been named a 2026 IAEM-USA 40 Under 40 Honoree!πŸ†

Andrew plays an important role in helping keep Pasadena prepared and our community informed. His dedication to public service, emergency preparedness, and our city does not go unnoticed.

Congratulations on this well-deserved achievement, Andrew! Pasadena is proud to have you serving our community!πŸ’™πŸŽ‰

The Pasadena Office of Emergency Management has received several reports of a chemical or gas odor being detected throughout various areas of the City.

The Pasadena Texas Fire Department has responded to multiple locations to investigate these reports and, at this time, has not detected any readings indicating unsafe air conditions.

OEM has also contacted Harris County Pollution Control and requested that their personnel conduct additional air quality assessments.

Based on the latest CAER notification, Next Wave Energy Partners (601 N. South Street) is currently conducting flaring operations at its facility.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will update this post as additional information becomes available.
