🚨 Tonight's hurricane computer models are shifting Laura toward Galveston Bay as a major hurricane. If you wake up to a westward shift in the track and see a forecast for category 3 or higher, believe it and be ready to act.

A colleague who works on hurricane computer models tells me they "threw all the guns at Laura" Monday evening, with multiple Hurricane Hunter flights sampling the steering currents, and after all that data was fed into the models, they shifted, and it was not in our favor.

We'll see what NHC does at 4AM and 10AM with their track, but be prepared to act with a clear mind if you are suddenly put under a hurricane watch or warning you weren't expecting.

As hurricanes approach, we say "Run from the water, hide from the wind." If new evacuation orders are issued for coastal residents in storm surge zones, those of us that live inland need to let our neighbors along the coast get out of harm's way.

I know I sound like a broken-record, but do not let your guard down, and be mentally prepared for more shifts in the forecast that could require action to protect your family and property.

I hope I wake up and all this is wrong. Either way, I'll be here for you throughout the duration of whatever Laura sends our way.

Goodnight.
