Today, we were at Independence Heights Park for the Mayor’s Love Our Parks Fest.
Every community deserves to have beautiful greenspace and vibrant parks to gather and enjoy, Under the Love Our Parks initiative, we aim to inspire more citizen engagement and forge community connections in our neighborhood parks.
There are 380+ parks that are important to the communities they serve. It is important that I direct our public funding equitably across the city, so our neighborhood parks that need attention are improved to look their best+offer the very best to the citizens who use them daily

The enthusiasm & spirit of our city’s youth was on full display this morning as we gathered for the annual Red Ribbon Rally here at City Hall. I enjoyed chatting with the students about the importance of staying the course and commended them for serving as public safety ambassadors.🙏🏽
Mayor Turner brought smiles & laughter to members of our elderly community w/ a sponsored trip to the Houston Zoo! The morning started with an amazing sea lion presentation, followed by some QT with the Galápagos Tortoises and so much more! 💚

Today, as we cut the ribbon for the New Hope Housing Savoy, I'm reminded of the profound impact of providing secure housing to our community. Especially the dedicated housing for women and children fleeing domestic violence, offering them a sanctuary and a fresh start.
Proud of the continued partnership with Houston area women’s center, HPD, Council Member Kamin and my office of human trafficking and domestic violence to raise awareness. Just last month we announced $1.75 million in available funds for organizations to address domestic violence.

As an update, Mayor Turner announced the City is working hard to repair water leaks caused as a result of the drought and dry ground. We still need to reduce water usage by 10% while Houston remains under the Phase Two Water Conservation Plan.
