Two Suspects Arrested Following Bank Jugging Incident and Multi-Agency Pursuit
On Wednesday, July 29, 2026, the Rosenberg Police Department arrested two suspects following a bank jugging incident that occurred at American Heritage Academy located 5701 Avenue I, Rosenberg, Texas.
The investigation began after officers received a report that approximately $10,000 in cash had been stolen from the victim after the victim stopped at both Chase Bank and Bank of America.
Shortly after the incident, Rosenberg Police officers located the suspect vehicle traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 59. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, a pursuit ensued. A short time later, officers were notified that the suspect vehicle had crashed near U.S. Highway 59 and Sweetwater Boulevard. Witnesses reported seeing two male suspects flee the scene on foot behind Sugar Land Baptist Church.
A coordinated search involving the Rosenberg Police Department, the Sugar Land Police Department, the Houston Police Department FOX Helicopter Unit, the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office Office K-9 Unit, and the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office RAVEN drone team resulted in both suspects being located while hiding in a nearby neighborhood. Both suspects were taken into custody without further incident. Several thousand dollars in cash was recovered, which is believed to be stolen.
The suspects have been identified as Larry Lendall Nicholson, 28, of Houston, Texas, and Courtland Courteze Martin, 32, of Humble, Texas.
Nicholson has been charged with Theft of Property $2,500 or More but Less Than $30,000, a State Jail Felony. He also had three outstanding Felony warrants out of the State of Louisiana, which were confirmed following his arrest.
Martin has been charged with Theft of Property $2,500 or More but Less Than $30,000, a State Jail Felony, and Evading Arrest or Detention with a Motor Vehicle, a Third-Degree Felony.
The Rosenberg Police Department would like to thank all of the citizen witnesses, the Sugar Land Police Department, the Houston Police Department, and the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office, for their assistance. The coordinated efforts were instrumental in the successful apprehension of both suspects and the recovery of the stolen cash. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be filed as more information becomes available.
