Thanks to City of Houston Office of Emergency Management Deputy Director and Emergency Management Coordinator, Tom Munoz, for hosting MOPD yesterday. Our team members joined forces on accessible emergency response, discussing the resources and culture needed to best serve our community.
We learned more about a new position at OEM held by Julian Ochoa: Emergency Preparedness Manager for Vulnerable Communities. This position focuses on integrating the needs of people with Disabilities, Access, and Functional Needs (DAFN) into City emergency plans, educating these communities on how to prepare for disasters, and serving as an important liaison with MOPD.
We look forward to working together!
