NWFRW Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrars were back in action today registering voters and assisting with address changes on voter registrations. Todays’s event was hosted at The Conservatory. Every vote is important and matters! NWFRW is working to GET OUT THE VOTE for the November midterms. The deadline to register to vote is October 5th.

NWFRW is pleased to announce that the club is hosting a fundraising event, alongside the Harris County Republican Party, benefiting the Joint Judicial Campaign to help get Republican judges elected in Harris County! Come hear from United States Senator Ted Cruz and The Honorable Ted Poe, former United States Representative and Harris County Judge.

Tickets are limited due to venue capacity, so DON’T WAIT! We hope you’ll join us for this special event to help make Harris County SAFE.

NWFRW Americanism Chairs presented books to the librarian at Barbara Bush Library as part of the club’s annual Literary Project. This is one of many ways NWFRW works to support the community in addition to its main mission of helping Republicans get elected to office.

After taking a break from meeting in July for summer, NWFRW was back “full speed ahead” on August 10th. A large crowd of members, guests, elected officials, and candidates enthusiastically welcomed Jon Bonck, Candidate for TX U.S. House, District 38, as the guest speaker. He stressed the importance of Republicans getting-out-the-vote, voting all the way down the ballot, and working on campaigns to turn Harris County RED and keep Texas RED.

Mark your calendars NOW for the meeting on September 14th, as Mayes Middleton, Republican candidate for Texas Attorney General, will be the speaker. Invite several friends to attend with you. Knowledge is power!

Also, “Vote Republican” yard signs will be distributed at the September meeting. You don’t want to miss out on getting one to proudly display. “When Republican women work together, we win!”

NWFRW extends condolences to the family of Former Congressman, Kay Granger (January 18, 1943 – August 2, 2026), the first Republican woman from Texas elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. She was mayor of Fort Worth in the early 1990’s before her election to Congress in 1996 from Texas’ 12th congressional district, where she stayed for nearly three decades.

As a longtime member of the House Appropriations Committee, she focused on defense spending, including production of the F-35. Lockheed Martin assembles the fighter jet in her former district.

Granger was the first Republican woman to chair that committee. She didn't run for reelection in 2024 as her health declined.

Many thoughts and prayers are extended to her loved ones, former colleagues, and friends.
