The Institute for Justice published an analysis this week of the study Flock has been promoting as proof its cameras cut crime. Thefts were already falling in the cities that bought the cameras before they went up.

The headline 11% drop only appears when the data is weighted toward a handful of agencies that had the most theft—count every city equally, or weight by population, and there is no statistically significant change.
