Today is Law Enforcement Appreciation Day!

Please join me in saying thank you to our law enforcement today and every day for their sacrifices for our continued safety.

Thank you to our deputies and all those who chose a life of service.

Today we spotlight the oldest youth equestrian drill team in Texas.

“The positive interaction we have with deputies is priceless," said Dalyn Bussey, the lead drillmaster for the Harris County Sheriff's Office Junior Mounted Posse . My son considers himself part of the HCSO family.”

Today, our Mounted took to the trails; practicing real operations by incorporating broken trail maneuvers of creek crossings, natural obstacles/elements along with uphill/downhill.

Just as all HCSO Mounted training goes, most of these maneuvers take time, trust, understanding, and proper horsemanship in order to safely and successfully navigate and execute these capabilities.

Thanks for visiting BSC pack 134 in Baytown at the VFW! The kids loved the experience! Thanks to all that made it happen.
Annunciation Catholic Church is inviting all Mounted Patrol units to attend a Pet Blessing in honor of St. Francis of Assisi! The Rite of Blessing will be held on Saturday, October 9th in front of the church on Crawford Street at Texas Avenue in downtown Houston. We would be honored for the HCSO Mounted Patrol to join us! Please plan on gathering by 8:30 AM. The blessing will begin at 8:45 AM. Thank you and God bless you all!
District 3 Crime Reduction Unit Deputy H. Ihejirikah and District 2 Patrol Deputy J. Sustaita are part of a pilot program to train deputies who don’t own a horse and have limited riding experience to be members of HCSO-Mounted Patrol Unit. Mounted Patrol Unit Commander Lt. Adolph has long dreamed of opening the unit up to deputies who are new to horsemanship as a way to be more inclusive and grow the unit into the future. “I foresee a day that we're not going to have a whole lot of people in the department that even own a horse. So this way we can keep the tradition alive,” said Lt. Adolph. If you want to be part of our team please visit 👉 bit.ly/2BMsmZV.
Trail to Zero is our annual 20 mile ride throughout various U.S. cities raising awareness for veteran su***de and prevention. We ride with veterans and for veterans, specifically the 20 veterans who die by su***de daily in our country. We ride to get the number of veteran su***des to ZERO. The article here in PATH International STRIDES has an inside look at the history of our ride, what it takes for veterans across the country to participate, and some snapshots from our 2019 rides in #DC, #NYC and #Chicago. Special thanks to the New York Mounted Police Department for embracing this mission from the start with our pilot ride in 2017 and your continued support in years since. Thank you to the United States Park Police Horse Mounted Patrol in DC, the Chicago Police Department Mounted Patrol Unit, and the City of Houston Mounted Patrol Unit for your support in welcoming us to your cities as we continue to grow our ride nationwide.
