From Donna;

We had to say goodbye to Poco “31” today. Poco was a great horse. She was born in 1996 and I bought her as a 2yr old in 1998. She was a beautiful, strong, brave, graceful, stubborn, dedicated horse and I am honored to have been a part of her life for 23 yrs. She served as an equine partner to both me and Danny from 2000 to 2018 in the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Mounted Patrol Unit. We love her dearly and will miss her everyday.

We are sad to report that Deputy Shaun Waters, 42, died Sunday after contracting COVID-19. Our collective thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones. Full release: https://bit.ly/3foZtFn.

Deputy Waters had served with the Sheriff’s Office since 2010, and most recently was assigned to District 4 patrol in west Harris County. He also set the foundation for many deputies' careers as a patrol field training officer.

When you go to take a picture with your friend side by side and then all of a sudden a brown horse head comes right in between you. And I look over and see a white one! Best surprise. Thank you Officer T. GUIDRY for introducing us to Officer Beau (brown horse). Thank you officer TC Rawls for introducing us to Officer Dooley (white horse).
