Earlier this week, the City held a naming ceremony for Holland Bridge, the bridge connecting Old City Park and Stevenson Park. The naming of the bridge is to celebrate the many years of committed volunteer service former Mayor Kevin Holland has provided to the City of Friendswood. Thank you for your service!

According to US National Weather Service Houston-Galveston Texas, the City of Friendswood is under a heat advisory from 12:00 PM on Monday, July 27, 2026, until Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 7:00 PM.

🚰 Drink plenty of water.
🏡 Stay in an air-conditioned room.
👵🏻👴🏽 Check up on relatives and neighbors.

If you must be outside, take extra precautions.
👕 Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing.
🏃🏿‍♀️ Limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
🥵 Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Unfortunately, Boomer has been at City of Friendswood Animal Services for almost a year. This Friday he will have been at the shelter for 365 days. So, we’re making lemonade (and cake) out of lemons! 🍋

Please join us this Saturday, July 25th from 10:00-12:00 on the Friendswood Chamber Of Commerce Patio (across from Stevenson Park) as we throw Boomer a big bash.

Stop by, have some cake by Great Harvest Bakery & Cafe Friendswood and meet Boomer. Boomer is approximately 4 years old and 45 pounds. He is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. Maybe he’d be a sweet addition to your family.

Friendswood Education Foundation auction winner, Rose Sheaffer got to be "Mayor for a Day" on Tuesday, July 14th. After taking her official oath of office, Mayor Rose spent the day learning how the City operates, giving an interview to a local newspaper, and touring each City department. Rose did an outstanding job as Mayor!
