On Saturday, June 6th, the City of Friendswood and the Friendswood Volunteer Fire Department proudly welcomed new truck, Tower 21 into service during a traditional Push-In Ceremony held at Fire Station 1.
Push-in ceremonies honor the fire service tradition of manually pushing a new truck into the station for the first time.
Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this special occasion and the dedicated firefighters who serve Friendswood. We are excited to see T21 support emergency response efforts for years to come. 🚒

Duration: June 8 - 11
Where: W. Bay Area from FM 528 to just past Steven Luke Lane
What: Tree trimming will require single lane closures in work areas. Public Works crews will be trimming trees on the sides of the street and the medians so lane closures will vary as they work their way through W. Bay Area. Congratulations to Megan Childers, Office Manager with the Parks and Recreation Department, for receiving the Five Star Spirit Award. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐This award recognizes City employees that have performed above and beyond their normal job duties. A resident wrote in to let us know about her experience with her granddaughter at City Hall. After a day at the park, the resident's granddaughter wanted to come inside City Hall to see what it was like and what happened inside. They met Meg with the Parks and Recreation Department and she took the time to give them a tour of the building and explain the different departments and what they were responsible for. They both thoroughly enjoyed it and appreciated the time Meg took with them to show them everything and answer their questions. Meg also received nominations from co-workers that highlighted how she goes out of her way for staff routinely. Thank you Meg!
