Good job by all crews today at a vacant restaurant fire.
City of Houston Fire Station 84 serving the Greenspoint area.
Different from any other fire station in the city, Houston took a more modern approach with this fire station design. The 15,500 square foot project features five apparatus bays, sleeping and support spaces that will accommodate four shifts of 16 people per shift with an estimated cost of approximately $6.6 million and an anticipated completion date of May 2015. In order to better meet the heating

Hopefully this will help alleviate the flooding problem the Greenspoint area has experienced over the last several years.
The Harris County Flood Control District has completed construction of the Glen Forest and Kuykendahl Stormwater Detention Basins, located in Greens Bayou. The Flood Control District matched the $39.2 million award from the Federal Emergency Management Agency through the Hurricane Ike Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, bringing the total cost of construction to $63.7 million.
Together, the two basins are expected to reduce the risk of flooding for approximately 1,100 structures along Greens Bayou.

From Andy Williamson: “On Christmas Eve 2020, at 2222 hours, Engine 5 delivered a healthy baby girl at the couple’s home that was supposed to be a C-section while waiting on Ambulance 4. Despite everything, there are still cool things that happen at this job. Picture posted with permission of family of course.”
