Judge Sonia Rash was honored to be invited to speak with students at George Ranch High School, connecting with six different batches of students throughout the day.

Judge Rash spoke with students about career opportunities, truancy, Justice of the Peace courts, and the importance of civic engagement.

The students brought thoughtful and interesting questions to each conversation, making the day both engaging and rewarding. It was an absolute pleasure to spend time with the next generation, share insight into the work of the JP courts, and encourage students to stay informed and involved in their communities.

On September 3rd, Judge Sonia Rash and JP3-1 proudly held the inauguration of the only legal kiosk in Fort Bend County!

The event had a fantastic full-house attendance, with curious residents coming out to learn how the kiosk works and how this innovative resource can serve as an asset to our community.

The kiosk provides access to valuable legal resources, including a virtual lawyer, legal aid assistance, legal research information, forms, and more — helping make important legal information more accessible to residents.

We were also honored to have Senator Boris Miles’ office present Judge Rash with a proclamation recognizing the kiosk and its value to the community.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support, learn, and celebrate this important step toward increasing access to legal resources in Fort Bend County!

Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Fort Bend County’s Only Free Legal Kiosk

This groundbreaking initiative, provided by Texas Legal Services Center and graciously funded by the Texas Access to Justice Foundation, marks the first of its kind in a Fort Bend County courtroom.

The legal kiosk is designed to provide the public with essential access to a wealth of legal self-help resources, experienced attorneys, and vital court services. Judge Sonia Rash has worked tirelessly to ensure that the residents of Fort Bend County have the tools and support they need to navigate the legal system effectively.

“This legal kiosk is a significant step toward making justice more accessible for all our residents,” said Judge Rash. “I am dedicated to empowering our community with the resources they need, and this kiosk is a reflection of that commitment.”

A wonderful Saturday filled with sweet treats, music, dancing, and even sweeter memories!

Judge Rash was honored to sponsor and host the Summer Finale Ice Cream Social at a retirement facility. From delicious ice cream to singing along with the band, it was a joy to celebrate with such a wonderful group of residents. Judge Rash especially loved getting out on the dance floor and sharing some fun moments with everyone!

This morning, Judge Rash was invited to speak with students and parents at Kempner High School about the importance of school attendance and truancy. As a judge who deals with Truancy regularly in her court and who cares deeply about the future of our students, she emphasized the importance of parents, students, and schools working together to address truancy and support student success.
Judge Rash also spoke about the importance of civic engagement, inspiring students to become informed, involved, and active members of their community.
